Content Marketing for MLM
T happens every time! When I create a piece of content via article or video and distribute it on the web, it drives traffic to my website. How do I know this? Because I watch my analytics as I submit content and the graph bar goes up after publishing. I also look at where the traffic is coming from so I know how people are finding my information. I can see how long they stay on my pages and which pages are read the most. This guides me to write specifically for my market niche.
If you are an online marketer and you are utilizing this method to promote your network marketing business, you must have a content strategy. Here’s how the strategy works:
1) Decide what the pain points of your customers are. They may be related to your product (back pain, fatigue, stress) or they may be related to your prospects (lack of leads, skills, direction). Which niche are you going to respond to? What solutions are you going to offer? How are you going to help improve the lives of those who are seeking information about the things you know something about?
2) create compelling, interesting and consistent messaging that provides an answer to their question, “How can I feel better?” or “How can I meet my goals?” This strategy should have you writing articles, books, e-books or creating videos that regularly teach about the various aspects of your niche. Let’s say your niche is network marketing. You can write about numerous topics related to the industry. For example, you can write about analyzing pay plans, how to position yourself as a leader, how to get over telephone fear, how to get more leads, etc.
3) Tell your customer what to do next. They are looking for something special. If you can provide it for free or sell them something to answer their prayers, you guide them to their next step. It could be “Fill out this form!”; “Grab your free report now!”; “Order my CD here.”; “Place your order now!”
Before you enter into a social marketing strategy, it’s imperative that you have a content marketing strategy first. Especially if you are working a mom business, you want to make sure you aren’t just promoting your products and services and trying to get your customers to the company replicated website. People want to work with and buy from people they trust. You must establish rapport by giving them something they want and or need through your content and then maybe – just maybe – they will buy your product or service.
Consistency is important when creating your content strategy. If you are pursuing article marketing, submitting one or two articles is not enough. According to content expert Joe Palazzo, “article marketing is a key search engine optimization effort and should go hand-in-hand with SEO campaigns.”
So…my next article will focus on creating a specific strategy for network marketers who are trying to figure out their niche and how to generate content for that niche. If you are in the early stages of online marketing and you want to save yourself a lot of time, spend your initial investment of time developing your market niche and developing an expertise in something that you can teach over time.
