LOL at British Situation Comedies

Briton is a coinage made up to depict situation comedy made in the United Kingdom. This term is just used outside of UK since within the British flag; they are unsurprisingly just identified as sitcoms or situation comedies. Akin to sitcoms made in other nations, they are likely about workplace, family or other organizations in which a group of opposing characters gather every episode. A general issue would be the discovery of lifestyle.

Different Styles

The most demurely written series totally renounce structured jokes and try to replicate a day by day atmosphere intended as well to mimic its humor. The forefather of this technique is perhaps Hancock’s Half Hour on radio and television during the 1950′s. Examples from recent times include The Office, Gavin & Stacey and The Royal Family and other British comedy dramas.

A separation of British sitcom knowingly shuns conventional sitcom ideas and plot to broaden into more uncommon subjects. This kind of liberty and try-out has made series like Spaced, Marion and Geoff, Green Wing, The League of Gentlemen and 15 Storey’s high.

Narrative techniques could be observed in Yes Minister and Black adder wherein they shift from the typical workplace or home-type to the corridors of power. Spoof TV series, like The Office, KYTV and People like Us, is one more well-known advancement in modern times

Most British TV comedy series are 25 to 30 minutes in length and shot on studio sets using a few still cameras. But some famous sitcoms have veered away from this, particularly the more recent ones.

My Mother Is a Dinosaur

This is an interesting episode which will be fun to share with you all friends. Recently, I called up an old friend, Dolly, who stays in another city, to wish her on her birthday. She narrated an incident about her 6 year old daughter which was very entertaining, to say the least.

Her daughter, Soya, had been enrolled for Odessa classes (Indian classical dance form). It was her first day at the dance class and there were two other girls in her batch. The teacher asked each one of the three girls what their mothers did for a living. The first girl replied that her mother was a designer; the second girl said hers was a furniture dealer. It was Siva’s turn and she replied, “My mother is a DINOSAUR!”

The teacher was taken aback by the answer, and she asked Soya why she thought her mother was a dinosaur. Pat came the rely “Because she screams at me all day!”

Children sure are creative!

Here are few more funny answers by kids.

1) I recently asked a friend, ‘Has your son decided what he wants to be when he grows up?’
‘Yes, he wants to be a garbage collector’, my friend replied.
I had to think about that one for a moment. ‘That’s a rather strange ambition to have for a career,’ I finally managed to reply. ‘Well,’ said the boy’s father, ‘he thinks that garbage collectors only work on Tuesdays’.

2) TEACHER: In this box, I have a 10-foot snake.
SAMMY: You can’t fool me, Teacher… snakes don’t have feet.

3) TEACHER: If I had seven oranges in one hand and eight oranges in the other what would I have?
Little Johnny: Big hands!
